Celebrating the journey of 75 years #GainwellCat@75

22nd July 2019 is a very special day – on this day we marked our 75th anniversary as a Caterpillar dealership – a significant milestone that a few companies have achieved in India. Amongst the global dealership fraternity, we are proudly one of the oldest allies of Caterpillar.

Way back in 1944, three Scottish visionaries co-founded Tractors India at 6, Church Lane, Calcutta (now Kolkata) with an objective of importing Caterpillar products that would address the growing infrastructural needs of a transforming India. It is amazing to think how far the country has transformed since then and we can all be proud of the role Gainwell has played in that revolution.

These seven and half decades of our existence have been truly remarkable not only for us as an organization but also for us as citizens of a country that is fast becoming a global economic force to reckon with. All of us at Gainwell feel proud of the fact that our machines are operational at signature infrastructural projects and we, in our own way have been co-scripters of India’s proud history, partnering in India’s development journey as a facilitator of infrastructure resurgence.

Our success story would not have been possible without the active involvement of our people. Together we have accomplished a lot. The entire organization commemorated this momentous occasion through a cake cutting ceremony held across 88 locations. Each location organized for a cake designed in the shape of a special logo (developed to represent the milestone year) and cut it at the same time. The celebrations began with the inspirational address by Mr. Sunil Chaturvedi, Chairman and Managing Director, Gainwell Commosales from our headquarters in Kolkata and it reached out to over 1683 employees through a ‘live’ webcast.

The celebrations will continue over the year – the idea is to celebrate not just one date but the entire 75 years of the success story created by us all.
